Through the study of textile and clothing terminologies, we perceive contacts, innovations, exchanges, as well as social, cultural and economic structures in Europe and its neighbouring countries.
The aim of this research notebook is to share, in open access, existing scientific resources concerning textiles and clothing terminologies, from the invention of writing to the pre-industrial area. It is maintained by the members of Working Group 3 of the research network Euroweb (COST Action CA 19131). Its objective is to gather online resources, bibliographies and terminological corpuses for researchers, teachers and the general public. It will help to support the development of cross-language studies of textile and clothing terminologies, to trace loanwords, and to determine how these terminologies influenced other fields of knowledge.
